Job Description – Pre-Sales Engineer – NetSuite, Acumatica ERP Systems

The Pre-Sales Engineer role is responsible for working jointly with Udexx Technology (“Udexx”) direct Sales and Account Management teams to provide scoping, solutioning, and estimation of the Professional Services effort required for new sales opportunities. The Pre-Sales Engineer will also be responsible for working directly with customers to document and validate their business requirements and mapping them to ERP/CRM functionalities available through Udexx products and its offerings through affiliates (IFS, Acumatica, and Oracle NetSuite).

The Pre-Sales Engineer will work with the Sales team during the initial discovery and demo process to ensure that the clients’ requirements are fully understood and included in the implementation Statement of Work (SOW). The Pre-Sales Engineer is also responsible for presenting and delivering the final SOW and pricing for the Professional Services to implement and deliver the products sold.


  • Have experience implementing ERP, CRM, and/or WBS projects from Technical Design through production.
  • Are seeking a transition from technical solutions to a sales-based environment.
  • Are comfortable discussing, collaborating, and evolving Udexx’s understanding of the client’s requirements and concerns, both internally and externally.


  • Actively participate in scoping, discovery and proposal review sessions with the client prospect and with the internal Udexx team.
  • Coordinate with partners and integrated software vendors (ISV’s) to arrive at the proper modules and pricing of the overall solution
  • Ability to develop and articulate solution options, associated risks and costs, pros and cons, and make clear, confident recommendations grounded in reality.
  • Ability to align client’s business needs and process workflow with Acumatica by understanding the customer’s current state and business objectives.
  • Produce the technical specifications needed to determine out of the box capabilities or if there is a need for custom development.
  • Scope and document (written and/or visually) the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Udexx.
  • Manage the creation of the associated solution scope, timelines, WBS, estimates and proposals as it evolves throughout an engagement.
  • Present the solution, estimates and proposal to the prospect/client.
  • Consult with clients to lead them to the optimal technical solutions based on their needs, and the business, with confidence.
  • Customize a demonstration environment (logo, color scheme, branches, sample products, etc.) prior to any needed sales demonstration for a prospect.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales growth, as directed.
  • Participate in the evolution of process improvements and cross-functional communications.
  • Communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams across geographic regions.
  • Participation in pre & post-sales technical scoping, requirements gathering, and solution creation & review.
  • Ability to bring new ideas to the client regarding strategy in engaging with customers across their digital channels.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and certification badges as indicated by Udexx executive leadership. Be fully aware of, and be able to articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions
  • Create Statements of Work and develop cost estimates for Customer Success implementation efforts
  • Develop, deliver, and sell high-impact Solution Recommendations outlining value of how a particular ERP/CRM solution can meet precise business objectives
  • Participate in pricing and Statement of Work presentations to prospective customers
  • Provide explanations to prospects for questions regarding SOWs as well as Udexx product and services offerings
  • Provide support as needed with negotiations with prospects regarding inclusions/exclusions in the scope of the SOW and update pricing accordingly
  • Act as liaison with other internal and affiliate teams as required
  • Document implementation blueprint and systems diagram, and transfer knowledge to the Customer Success implementation team
  • Manage and prioritize engagements assigned to you within remote work platforms and via direct delegation from the executive team


  • Experience in translating customer business requirements into workable business solutions, either as a software solution or a re-engineering initiative
  • Ability to acquire and maintain an understanding of Udexx cloud-based solutions and have knowledge of a variety of partner solutions
  • Expert understanding of cloud-based ERP/CRM solutions
  • Experience with complex selling & value-based (consultative) sales strategies
  • Excellent communication, planning, organization and presentation skills
  • Experience creating Statements of Work and cost estimates.
  • Experience preparing and presenting solution value propositions.
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Ability to conduct effective needs analysis and project scoping



  • Three – Five years of consulting experience with ERP, WMS, or Retail (POS) software preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in Supply Chain Logistics, Procurement, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Retail, and eCommerce.
  • Experience with Oracle | NetSuite ERP is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IFS Cloud ERP is strongly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience in full cycle implementations of ERP, CRM, or WMS applications.


  • Udexx Technology is powered by a distributed workforce, regular commuting to an office location is not required.
  • As appropriate, able to travel to Udexx client headquarters to support on-site sales and pre-sales activities.
  • As appropriate, able to travel on a modest to moderate basis to Udexx headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
